This week the roof was sheathed in plywood so as to be ready for shingling. As the roof is fully exposed to the winds off Lake Ontario, there were a few days when, understandably, the crew could not work and so began some of the interior walls which had been put off in the push to get the roof on. Next week skylights will be installed and the plywood will be covered in a temporary roof fabric. This will keep the building dry while the shingles are being installed.
Elsewhere the contractor has been working to insulate all the gaps in the turret window framing with spray foam and covering all the edges of the window openings with building wrap so as to be ready for the window installation. The bottom corner of window openings is very vulnerable to water and extra care here is very important.
